October 1993: Keith and Kim Lussier find a baby that they would like to adopt from Korea and begin the adoption process
January 1994: Kimberly Lussier undergoes emergency hysterectomy.
July 17, 1994: Kim Lussier dies of uterine cancer
July 23, 1994: Brittany Lussier is removed from the home stating that single parents are not allowed to adopt.
August 3, 1994: Keith Lussier fights the case in court
September 1994: The adoption agency decides to fight the case no longer
March 1998: The movie comes "A Father for Brittany" also known as a Change of Heart premiers on CBS.
